The Rounding Feature

Splitting a $147.83 bill four ways gives you $36.96 each. Turn on rounding and everyone pays $37. The extra few cents go to a slightly higher tip, and nobody deals with odd change.

Tip Pooling Guide

If you manage a restaurant or work in a team that pools tips:

  1. Add up all tips for the shift
  2. Add up total hours worked by everyone in the pool
  3. Divide tips by hours to get the hourly tip rate
  4. Multiply each person's hours by that rate

Example: Your team earned $450 in tips. Three servers worked 8, 6, and 4 hours (18 total). Rate = $450 / 18 = $25/hr. The 8-hour server gets $200, the 6-hour gets $150, the 4-hour gets $100.
